Water Wash-Away Roll - 10" x 5yds White
Description
The Hook: Achieve the structural rigidity of a heavyweight backing with a "vanishing" finish. Engineered to support high-density lace and heavy fleece without the perforation risks of standard soluble films.
What It Is: Our #3012 series Water Wash-Away is a premium, fibrous soluble stabilizer. Unlike clear film toppings that can tear under high needle counts, this "wet-laid" non-woven interlocks with your embroidery threads, creating a rock-solid foundation that maintains its dimensional integrity before dissolving 100% cleanly in warm water.
Application Guidelines:
- The Free-Standing Lace (FSL) Standard: The industry go-to for lace and emblems. It provides a self-supporting canvas that allows you to stitch complex designs with zero fabric. Once rinsed, you are left with soft, professional-grade lace and no fiber residue.
- The Fleece & Nap Specialist: Perfect for heavy fleece blankets and high-pile napkins where you need a stabilizer that can handle the weight of the material but must disappear completely to maintain the luxury feel of the garment.
- Zero-Residue Finish: Designed to leave the embroidery soft and drapable. Ideal for heirloom projects or boutique items where the back of the design must be as clean as the front.
⚠️ THE SOLUBLE STORAGE RULE:
Soluble stabilizers are "hygroscopic"—they actively absorb moisture from the air. To prevent your roll from becoming tacky or brittle, always store it in a sealed, air-tight plastic bag when not in use. Ensure your hands and work surface are 100% dry before handling.
Laboratory Pro-Tips:
- The Warm Water Secret: For the fastest and most complete removal, submerge the finished item in warm water with slight agitation. In areas with "hard water," you may need a second rinse or a run through a delicate wash cycle to ensure every trace of the stabilizer is gone.
- Adhesive Caution: If using a temporary spray adhesive, use a very light mist only. Over-saturation can trap the soluble fibers and make the final removal more difficult.
- Variable Stiffness: For items like lace ornaments that require a bit of "body," rinse the project less vigorously. Leaving a small amount of residue in the fibers acts as a natural starch, giving your lace permanent structure.
