Which embroidery kit do I need?
Pick by the job, not by the machine. Every kit is built the same way: the backing that suits the fabric, the needle point that suits the backing, and prewound bobbins, in quantities that run out at roughly the same time — so you are not left holding 400 sheets of tearaway and no needles.
Caps and hats
The Cap Starter Kit covers about 500 caps: 2.5oz Premium Tearaway in the 4" x 7" cap strip, sharp point DBxK5 75/11 needles and prewound L-style bobbins. The Cap Pro Kit is the same kit with twice the tearaway, for shops running caps every week — about 1,000 caps.
Polos and knits
The Polo Starter Kit carries 2.0oz Standard CutAway in white and black both, so no order gets turned away on colour, with ball point DBxK5 75/11 needles — about 500 polos. The Polo Pro Kit adds 1.5oz No Show Mesh, 4.5oz Tech Weave and Cloud Cover Stitch topping, for performance wear and anything that has to look retail.
Towels and terry
Terry needs two things at once: a water-soluble topping over the loops so the stitches do not sink, and backing underneath. The Towel & Terry Kit has both — RinseAway topping and 2.5oz Premium Tearaway — with sharp point needles, for about 500 towels.
Jackets and outerwear
Heavier fabric wants a heavier needle. The Jacket & Outerwear Kit pairs 2.5oz Premium CutAway, which survives washing, with sharp point DBxK5 80/12 needles — about 1,000 garments.
What a kit actually is
Not a sealed box. Each kit drops into your cart as separate items, at the same prices they carry on their own product pages, so you can see exactly what you are buying before you pay for it.
The kit price applies to the kit as listed. If you change what is in the basket the discount comes off, because the code checks that the whole kit is there — but nothing stops you building the basket you want instead. The kits are a shortcut, not a restriction.
Every kit comes in two bobbin flavours, and the switch on each card changes the kit rather than the cart: magnetic Magna-Glide, or paper-sided AES V15L — 144 bobbins instead of 100, and cheaper. Each version has its own price and its own code, so both keep the kit discount.
If you want something else again — sideless S15L or cotton — add it on its own rather than swapping a kit line, because the code checks that the whole kit is there and will come off if a line changes.
