Description

The Hook: The ultimate professional choice for "next-to-skin" comfort. Achieve commercial-grade stability during the stitch-out with a post-wash softness that feels like a natural extension of the garment.

What It Is: Our #305S Supersoft TearAway is a 1.5oz technical nonwoven designed for the high-end retail market. Utilizing a specialized wet-laid process and extra-long polyester fibers, this stabilizer provides a dimensionally stable surface in the hoop, but transforms into a soft, fibrous, and drapable remnant that won't scratch or irritate the wearer.

Application Guidelines:

  • The Retail Professional Standard: The go-to choice for Oxford dress shirts, lightweight blouses, and high-end denim. It provides the coverage of a 1.5oz backing but with a "soft-edge" removal that is far superior to traditional crisp tearaways.
  • Long-Fiber Comfort: By incorporating longer synthetic fibers, this backing maintains excellent stitch holding and coverage while remaining exceptionally drapable. It’s designed to move with the fabric, not against it.
  • Clean, Soft Removal: Formulated to tear away cleanly around the design. Because the fibers are soft rather than rigid, the remaining "fuzz" inside the garment acts as a soft cushion against the skin rather than a sharp paper edge.

Laboratory Pro-Tips:

  • The "Invisible" Placket: For custom monograms on dress shirt cuffs and plackets, the #305S is the secret weapon. It provides enough backbone for crisp lettering but won't make the cuff feel stiff or "boardy."
  • Needle Lubricant Integration: Like our entire premium line, this Supersoft backing is infused with needle lubricants. This reduces friction and heat buildup at the needle point, leading to fewer thread breaks and smoother production on fine fabrics.
  • Laundering Secret: This stabilizer actually improves with age. After the first wash, the synthetic fibers relax even further, making the embroidery feel like a part of the original weave.

From a customer

It is extremely durable and holds up to a high stitch count beautifully. To put it simply, it stays put until you don’t want it to. When you do tear the tearaway away, there are no fuzzies to worry about.
