Description
Description
The Hook: The ultimate choice for delicate details and disappearing acts. Achieve professional stability on your lightest fabrics without the bulk or "cardboard" stiffness of standard industrial backings.
What It Is: Our 1.0oz Lightweight TearAway is a technical, wet-laid nonwoven designed for precision and "zero-trace" removal. Engineered from a fine blend of synthetic and cellulose fibers, this stabilizer provides the necessary dimensional stability for low-density designs while maintaining a remarkably thin profile that tears away cleanly in all directions.
Application Guidelines:
- The "Name Drop" Essential: This is the industry-standard foundation for quick monograms, name drops, and small logos on light fabrics. It provides enough support for the stitch-out and then "pops" away, leaving the garment soft and retail-ready.
- Delicate & Sheer Fabrics: Ideal for linens, handkerchiefs, and infant wear. It stabilizes the fabric enough to prevent puckering without the risk of distorting the garment during removal.
- High-Speed Production: Despite its lightweight feel, it is a dimensionally stable fabric that meets commercial laundering and stitch-holding requirements. It won't stretch or shift in the hoop, ensuring your registration stays locked.
Laboratory Pro-Tips:
- The "Invisible" Edge: For the cleanest possible removal, use a 70/10 or 75/11 Sharp needle. The smaller needle size creates a tighter perforation line, making the 1.0oz stabilizer tear away like a postage stamp around your design.
- Friction Defense: Even at this weight, we include integrated needle lubricants. This ensures your needles stay cool and your thread stays intact, even during high-speed production on multi-head machines.
- Layering for Control: For slightly denser designs on light fabrics, you can "cross-hatch" two layers of 1.0oz to get more stability than a single layer of 2.0oz while keeping a softer final hand.

It is extremely durable and holds up to a high stitch count beautifully. To put it simply, it stays put until you don’t want it to. When you do tear the tearaway away, there are no fuzzies to worry about.
