Cool Sew Ball Point DBXK5
Description
Organ DB×K5 Cool-Sew Ball Point Industrial Needles | Non-Stick Finish (Base SKU: DBXK5-CSBP | System: DB×K5 | 100 Needles per Box)
The Professional Solution for Adhesives on Knits and Performance Wear. Are you struggling with gummy needle buildup or thread breaks while embroidering on "sticky" stabilizers or using spray adhesives with delicate knits? The Organ DB×K5 Cool-Sew Ball Point combines a protective fiber-parting tip with a proprietary non-stick finish. This specialized coating creates a lubricated environment inside the needle eye, allowing thread to flow freely even when navigating heavy adhesives or heat-sensitive performance fabrics.
Is this needle for you? ⚠️ IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY CHECK: These needles have a ROUND SHANK. They are designed strictly for Commercial/Industrial Embroidery Machines (e.g., Tajima, Barudan, SWF, Ricoma, Brother PR Series). They will NOT fit standard home sewing machines (which require a flat-sided shank).
Key Performance Features
Cool-Sew Non-Stick Finish: The specialized surface treatment acts as a permanent lubricant, preventing friction-induced heat and stopping adhesive residues from grabbing the needle. This is essential for maintaining production speeds when using temporary spray adhesives or sticky-back stabilizers.
Ball Point (SES) Profile: Designed to gently part the fibers of knitted garments rather than slicing through them. This prevents the needle from cutting the yarn, eliminating holes in your embroidery on performance wear, polos, and t-shirts.
Lubricated Needle Eye: The Cool-Sew finish extends into the eye of the needle, ensuring that synthetic threads do not drag or shred. This results in consistent tension and fewer "bird-nesting" events on high-speed industrial runs.
OEM Quality: Produced to the exact tolerances required by the world’s leading machine manufacturers to ensure consistent timing and fewer skipped stitches under heavy production loads.
Best Use Practices
Primary Use: High-speed commercial embroidery on performance wear, polo shirts, and fleece involving spray adhesives or "sticky" stabilizers.
Warning for Wovens: Because this is a Ball Point, it is not recommended for tightly woven, stiff materials like heavy canvas or structured caps. For those materials, please use the Sharp Point (SP) version of our Cool-Sew needles.
When to Change: For industrial use, we recommend monitoring for "burrs" and changing the needle every 8 to 12 hours of actual run time to maintain peak performance on adhesive-heavy projects.
Thread Recommendations: Highly recommended for all synthetic threads and projects involving adhesive-backed patches on knits.
Needle Size Guide
Size 70/10 & 75/11: The "Universal" size for 90% of all adhesive-based knit embroidery tasks.
Size 80/12 & 90/14: Best for heavy fleece hoodies or multi-layered knit applications.
