RinseAway (Water-Soluble Topping Film)
Description
The Hook: Stop your stitches from sinking into the abyss. Keep your lettering crisp, your details sharp, and your embroidery sitting high above textured fabrics for a retail-ready finish.
What It Is: RinseAway is a premium, translucent lightweight film designed to lay on top of your garment during embroidery. It acts as a temporary "bridge," preventing your thread from getting buried in the nap, pile, or heavy weave of the fabric. Once the job is done, it vanishes completely with water, leaving zero trace of the stabilizer.
Application Guidelines:
- The "Sink or Swim" Rule (Towels & Fleece): Any fabric with a "pile"—terry cloth towels, sherpa, thick fleece, corduroy, or chunky knits—requires a topping. Without RinseAway, your stitches will sink directly into the material, ruining the clarity of your design.
- High-Contrast Lettering: Use this on performance pique and textured knits to ensure small text and fine outlines stay perfectly crisp and visible on the surface of the garment.
- Variable Removal: For small areas, a quick "dab" with a damp sponge is all you need. For larger production runs, simply submerge the item in warm water or run it through a standard wash cycle.
⚠️ CRUCIAL LABORATORY WARNING: This is NOT a Backing.
RinseAway is a topping only. It provides zero structural support for the needle and will not prevent puckering or registration shift. It MUST always be used in conjunction with a proper cutaway or tearaway backing underneath the garment.
Laboratory Pro-Tips:
- The "Steam" Secret: For the absolute fastest removal on the production floor, use a hand-steamer. The steam will dissolve the film instantly without soaking the entire garment, allowing for immediate packaging and shipping.
- Tear First, Wash Second: To speed up the cleaning process, tear away the excess film while the item is still in the hoop. The remaining film trapped under the stitches will vanish the moment it hits water.
- Storage: RinseAway is highly sensitive to humidity. Always store your rolls in the original plastic sleeve or a sealed container to prevent the film from becoming tacky or brittle.
